Q. Does the band travel?
A. Of course. The band has travelled to the Caribbean, the Amazon, Argentina and the Middle East as cruise ship band entertainment, Poland and San Tropez as jazz band hire for weddings. We always try and travel in the most cost effective way possible.
Q. Can you arrive before the guests arrive at our event.
A. Usually yes. Sometimes, in the height of summer, we may be coming on from another gig. However, we do everything we can to get set up before guests arrive, even if that means arriving at the venue first thing in the morning!
Q. How much do you charge?
A. We charge fees based on the type of occasion, the amount of music you require, the location of the event, the day of the week of the event and how many musicians are involved. Phone us fo ra quote. Our numbers are on the home page.
Q. Can we see you perform before we book you?
A. Of course! The Mississippi Swamp Dogs jazz band perform regularly around the London area in venues like the Hideaway, Ronnie Scott’s, The Bulls Head and Boisdales of Belgravia. Click on public performance dates to find where and when the band is playing.
Q. We are getting married. Can you learn our first dance for our wedding party?
A. We are able to learn 19 out of 20 first dances. There are very few songs that beat us!!
Q. I’m running a Burlesque night. Can you help?
A. We’d love to!! Lots of information here at Burlesque Bands including rehearsing with the acts, MC’ing and everything else to help give you a great show!
Q. For our wedding we want a New Orleans Jazz Band for the reception and party music in the evening. Can we get this with just the one band?
A. Yes, the Mississippi Swamp Dogs Jazz band are incredibly flexible in their variety of repertoire and will have no problems in adapting themselves between the afternoon and evening.
Q. Do you put on a show?
A. Yes the Mississippi Swamp Dogs put on a great show! We can send you a great testimonial from a recent theatre client attesting to this fact.
Q. How many members are you?
A. We usually go out as five or six members. We are able to adapt our size depending on your budget & space constraints.
Q. Do I have to pay for your sound equipment?
A. No, the Mississippi Swamp Dogs Jazz Band are self contained.
Q. Do I have to pay for travel?
A. In most cases, when the band works outside the M25, the price negotiated takes the travel costs into account.
Q. For a wedding, how much music do you recommend?
A. Usually we suggest three sets of 50 minutes, broken up into one set of background music for just after the wedding breakfast, followed by two sets of full on dance music. More information on our wedding services by clicking on jazz band hire weddings
Q. I understand you can play for funerals.
